Aspiring African 3D animators and digital artists, here’s your chance to showcase your talent to the world! “As Above, So Below” is a thrilling international digital art competition brought to you by O Kingdom Come, in partnership with Comic Con Ibadan and CGAfrica. This is an epic opportunity for both 3D animators and comic artists to display their creativity and potentially win from a prize pool of $1,500!
Who’s Behind the Competition?
The challenge is powered by O Kingdom Come, a renowned Pan-African comic studio whose graphic novel, also titled “O Kingdom Come”, has made waves internationally. This 120-page graphic novel narrates the dramatic fall of the Nubian empire and the intense struggles between kings and kingdoms. The comic was recently recognized as the Best Indie Comic Book of 2023 by Comic Book Resources.
How to Enter
To enter this digital art contest, participants must create an original artwork inspired by a scene from the O Kingdom Come comic book. You’re encouraged to interpret the comic in your own unique style! Use the comic’s themes of battles and ancient kingdoms to fuel your creativity.
Observe how submissions are merged side by side and flipped in opposite directions. Ensure to do the same when submitting entries.
Submit your artwork in both grayscale (or black and white) and colored versions, making sure to follow the submission guide below:
- Ensure that your submission is displayed side by side with both versions mirrored.
- Post your entry on Instagram and other social media platforms.
- Tag @okingdomcome, @comic_con_ibadan, and @cgafrica.
